Criminal cases in Tea being reviewed

Nov 14, 2012 -- 1:10pm

TEA, S.D. (AP) - Lincoln County State's Attorney Tom Wollman says he plans to review criminal cases in Tea during the past two years in the wake of an investigation of the city's former police chief and an officer.

The state attorney general's office is investigating former Chief Brian Ketterhagen and former officer James Klimple. The two resigned last week.

Ketterhagen is being sued by a Wyoming man wrongfully convicted of murder. The attorney general's office says the South Dakota probe isn't related to that, but Wollman tells the Argus Leader (http://argusne.ws/SUIwj9 ) that the Wyoming complaint is serious enough that he wants to take a second look at cases in Tea. He says, "It's the only responsible thing to do."

Ketterhagen has denied allegations that he withheld evidence in the Wyoming case.
