SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A businessman who grew up in Sioux Falls is opening a 6,000-square-foot rock 'n' roll academy in the South Dakota city exclusively for kids in the Boys and Girls Clubs program.

Dollar Loan Center majority owner Chuck Brennan says club members will get to play different rock instruments and have full access to rehearsal rooms, a recording studio and a miniature performance area.

Brennan was a club member in his youth, and he wants to open up musical opportunities to kids who wouldn't otherwise have the chance to learn guitar, bass, keyboards, drums or vocals.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire CEO Karen Fogas says kids come to the clubs with real natural talent, but they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to develop it.
